This class is perfect for the beginner or a refresher course for people with previous experience.  Classroom instruction on safety, types of handguns and ammo, fundamentals of handgun shooting, laws pertaining to owning and carrying a firearm, and some alternatives to firearms for self defense.  This class uses SIRT laser pistols for simulated range time.  This class satisfies Virginia requirement for concealed carry safety class.

Cost $65

 

Out of respect for our students, no loaded firearms are permitted in the classroom.

 

We prefer class attendees to be at least 16 years of age.

Cancellation Policy

Payments are NON-refundable. We will do our best to work with you, but if a student is unable to attend on the chosen date, registration can be rescheduled (up to 3 times) for a future date within 90 days of original registration. After that, funds are forfeited. Notification must be made 48 hours or more before class start.

 

Classes with 3 or less registered students may be rescheduled.

NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course

 

Students will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO,; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspections; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures, and firearm stoppage and malfunctions.

 

Course is 8:30am - 6pm.  Location is 1416 Churchville Ave, Staunton (behind the former Bit-N-Bridle shop).  No live fire.

USCCA Women's Handgun and Self-Defense Fundamentals (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3)

This training was created by a woman for women who are seeking to begin, improve upon, or add to their firearms skills. With three distinct modules (Women's Basic Pistol, Women's Intermediate Pistol, and Women's Defensive Pistol), this course is designed to teach students who are brand new to firearms and those who are ready to learn more about defensive shooting. Basics and fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and then built upon, while also exploring situational awareness, common types of handguns, ammunition types, malfunctions, firearms handling skills, defensive pistol fundamentals, and the use of deadly force. Part 1 is designed for all skill levels and is a prerequisite for Parts 2 & 3.
